pensiondivorce

The credit for this concept belongs to Paul C, who identified a need for a simple resource that family lawyers, financial advisers and individuals going through divorce can dip into when they need to fill any knowledge gap and also to seek further specialist advice should it be needed.

Paul was amongst the first Chartered Financial Planners, the gold standard for financial planning, and in recognition of his expertise in the complex area where pensions converge with divorce proceedings is one of the few members of Resolution, the Solicitor’s Family Law Association. Paul is also a member of the Royal Economic Society and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Having spent almost 20 years developing mentoring and training skills to build high performing technically excellent teams and individuals, in 2006 Paul expanded his repertoire by taking his first tentative steps into the world of academia, lecturing in the fields of personal finance and personal investment. Subsequently Paul has achieved Masters degrees in Adult Education and the Economics of Globalisation.

In 2015 Paul (as part of team of 12) was the recipient of a National Teaching Award for Excellence in Innovation.

Paul can regularly be found “performing” in seminar rooms and lecture theatres in Leicester University, the University of Lincoln, Nottingham Trent University and the Open University. He is also engaged in the delivery of financially orientated Massive Online Learning Courses (MOOCs) and is currently working a global masters programme which is a collaboration between Linkoping University (Sweden), Monash University (Australia), University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and the University of British Columbia (Canada). He is also considering becoming a doctoral candidate to further research the field of financial literacy.

As an Adviser to The Pensions Advisory Service (a grant maintained not-for-profit business of the Department of Work and Pensions) Paul’s specialist skills are called upon to investigate (and hopefully resolve) complex pension disputes referred to The Pensions Advisory Service by the Financial Ombudsman Service and the Office of the Pensions Ombudsman.

No individual is a team, Paul’s network of connections brings together some of the best actuaries, family lawyers, barristers, chartered accountants, chartered financial planners and chartered tax advisers all of whom are committed to collaborative working to meet the needs of individuals.
